The Brief
The company was undergoing a significant restructure and required a major
input of outplacement support across numerous sites in regions across England
and Scotland, often with delivery required simultaneously at a wide range
of geographical areas.
The Approach
Careful planning with Central and Regional HR staff to arrange organisation
and logistics for a comprehensive programme of outplacement support across
HQ and multiple regional sites. A letter and briefing sheet of FAQ’s
to explain the support programme was made available to staff. This was followed
up by group briefing sessions to consolidate awareness of programmes and
explain practical arrangements.
Group Workshops were then delivered covering Career Appraisal, CV preparation,
Approaching the Job Market and Interviews and Self Marketing Techniques.
Via selection through completing preference forms, staff could also opt for
additional support workshops in Retirement Planning, Stress Management and
Self Employment. Additionally Independent Financial Advice was arranged in
group and one to one format covering aspects such as budgeting, investment
options and financial aspects of retirement planning.
